DEVUP Code in Google Antigravity
DEVUP Code is an extension that brings DEVUP AI models into Google Antigravity, installed from Open VSX through Antigravity's own Extensions view. Sign in with your DEVUP account, then chat in a panel of its own, without replacing Antigravity's built-in AI chat.

In practice
How it works in practice: add tests to a function in Antigravity
Take a small helper that has no tests yet, in a project open in the Antigravity editor. These steps go from selecting it to saving what the reply proposes.
def slugify(title: str) -> str:
"""Turn a page title into a URL slug: "Hello World" becomes "hello-world"."""
words = title.strip().lower().split()
return "-".join(words)- Select the function, right-click inside the selection, open DEVUP AI and choose Add Tests. The request goes out straight away, with no message to type.
- Add Tests uses the model named in
devupai.editorActions.model. While that setting is empty, it takes the model selected in the chat. - The reply appears in the panel as it is written, and Esc stops it at any point.
- If the reply has a code block, choose New file on it. The code opens in an editor that is not saved yet, so the folder and the file name are up to you.
- Save the file and run your tests. If a test does not pass, select it, press
Ctrl+Alt+Dand ask why; type @ to attachtext_utils.pyas well. - Apply on a code block shows the change as a diff first, and your file changes only after you accept it.
The editor actions page of the docs goes deeper into each action and into Insert, Apply and New file.
Editor actions
What each DEVUP AI action does with your code in Antigravity
| Action | Where to find it | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Ask DEVUP AI | The DEVUP AI submenu on a selection, or Ctrl+Alt+D | The code waits in the chat as a chip until you send your question |
| Explain | The DEVUP AI submenu | Sent at once, with the lines and a request to explain them |
| Fix | The DEVUP AI submenu | Sent at once, with the lines, the problems the editor reports there and a request to fix them |
| Add Tests | The DEVUP AI submenu | Sent at once, with the lines and a request to write tests for them |
| Fix with DEVUP AI | Quick Fix, on an error or a warning | The code goes to the chat together with its problems |
Use cases
Everyday uses in Antigravity
- Keep secrets out of your requests.
.envfiles, private keys, certificates, and SSH or Git folders stay out of file search, cannot be attached, and are never edited by DEVUP AI. List more patterns indevupai.context.neverSend; they extend that protection and cannot reduce it. - Say your preferences once. Write instructions in Settings, such as the test style you want, and they travel with every chat in every project.
- See exactly what the model gets. The Instructions page lays out everything the model receives, in the order it receives it.
- Return to an earlier session. Chats are saved on this computer. Open History, search for the one you need and reopen it.
Security in DEVUP Code explains how these protections fit together.
Tips
Tips for DEVUP AI in Antigravity
- The DEVUP AI panel takes on your editor theme, whether light, dark or high-contrast, and honours its reduced-motion setting.
- Make the chat easier to read: change its text size and spacing, or hide model logos, and check the result in the live preview.
- Replies show formatted text, coloured code and readable math, with a Copy button on every code block.
- The get-started guide sets the Antigravity install steps beside those for the other editors.
Editor AI
DEVUP AI and Antigravity's built-in AI
Adding DEVUP Code does not replace the AI chat built into Antigravity: DEVUP AI keeps to a panel of its own.
